2026 Q3 Updates -
It is with great frustration that I write this update. As I have alluded to previously, TRC is in the process of moving factories. This was never something I wanted to do. When we first began working with our original factory, they were excellent in every aspect of the process. Unfortunately, that relationship has changed significantly and suddenly.
The factory has experienced major growth (apprently), and the only conclusion I can draw is that companies operating at our scale are no longer a priority for them. Communication that was once daily has become weekly at best, all because they expected us to increase our production numbers to 5,000 units per release.
We have never publicly disclosed our production quantities, but I can say with confidence that they are nowhere near the 5,000 units now being demanded. There is simply no realistic scenario where we could order, sell, and make a profit on 5,000 figures per release. The Galoob-style market is already considerably smaller than the standard Retro or Hasbro figure market, and from my knowledge, even some of the biggest companies operating in that space would struggle to move those kinds of numbers.
In short, we have effectively been held to ransom on our final releases with this factory. The frustrating part is that I have personally seen Paul Orndorff at around 90% completion. I was promised the figures would be ready to ship by the end of June. We are now in July, the factory continues to drag its feet, and TRC is left with no option but to announce further delays. Unfortunately, Paul Orndorff is not the only release affected.
The factory was fully aware that we would be opening pre-orders for Buff Bagwell and 2 Cold Scorpio. They supported the decision throughout the process. It was only after pre-orders had closed that they informed us of their new 5,000-unit requirement. To make matters worse, I had been told that moulds for both figures had already been completed and that only painting, packaging, and shipping remained, with completion expected within weeks. This has turned out not to be true. Both Bagwell and 2 Cold Scorpio have remained in effectively the same post-prototype state for months.
I have done everything possible to prevent this situation from negatively impacting TRC, but after the delays we have already experienced, I cannot continue keeping everyone in the dark. Expenses have continued to leave the business while we sit in limbo, and sales have naturally slowed due to the lack of new releases. The factory has also left us in an incredibly difficult position regarding the championship belts. These are products they knew were already being offered for sale. The belts are essentially complete and only require painting to finish production. Once again, I was promised they would be completed by the end of June. Once again, there has been no update.
The situation surrounding Diamond Studd has also changed considerably. We were originally told that a small consignment had somehow failed to arrive with the original shipment. After months of chasing this supposedly missing package, we agreed that the missing units would instead be shipped alongside Paul Orndorff. Unfortunately, this was also untrue. The missing consignment was never missing because it never existed in the first place. This is information I only discovered recently, and for me personally, it was the final confirmation that our relationship with this factory could not continue. I can assure everyone waiting on these "missing" Diamond Studds that they will be shipped alongside Paul Orndorff, as I have fortunately been able to withhold funds from the factory until these outstanding orders are completed. TRC is not the only company experiencing issues with this factory, and I suspect more information regarding these problems will become public in the near future once others have secured their own stock.
With all of that said, we have now fully secured a new manufacturing partner. Importantly, this is a factory that already works within our market space. I have seen their products in person and have every confidence that their work will translate perfectly to what we produce at TRC. They have already received PN News and Diamond Studd samples for inspection and comparison to ensure future releases meet and hopefully exceed the standards you have come to expect from us. How does this affect us long term? The new factory is more expensive and requires larger upfront payments. However, TRC pricing will not increase to offset these additional costs. Holding prices where they are has always been part of the long-term plan, and that remains unchanged.
Our goal remains to eventually eliminate pre-orders entirely and move towards in-stock releases only.
That is still the destination, but right now we are not in a position to make that move. In fact, the opposite is true. Joey Janela and Danhausen will be offered as pre-orders in the coming weeks/months. This is something I have tried extremely hard to avoid, but in the current situation it is the only realistic way to offset the financial losses created by the factory issues while allowing us to move production forward with our new partner. The new factory understandably wants to move quickly, and we want to give them every opportunity to do so. That said, this will be the end of pre-orders for the foreseeable future. There is absolutely no intention to open further pre-orders until Buff Bagwell, 2 Cold Scorpio, Joey Janela, and Danhausen are all completed and delivered.
I am speaking with the new factory daily, and together we are building the best possible strategy for moving TRC forward. Once the situations surrounding Paul Orndorff, Diamond Studd, and the championship belts are finally resolved, we can close the book on our previous factory and move forward properly. This is not us giving up. This is me making a promise to every single customer that every figure you have ordered will arrive in your collection.
I cannot apologise enough for the delays. The situation has been incredibly frustrating for everyone here at TRC because it genuinely felt as though we had hit the ground running. We had momentum, we were growing quickly, and unfortunately these issues have brought that progress to a halt. I cannot thank everyone who has supported TRC enough, but now is the time we need that support more than ever. TRC is not going anywhere. We simply find ourselves navigating a difficult situation that requires our full attention and effort. The team is on board. The plan is in place. Our goal remains exactly the same as it always has been: to bring you the best products we can produce, delivered in a reasonable timeframe, while growing your collections without overwhelming you with endless releases. There are certainly things I would do differently with the benefit of hindsight, but that is easy to say after the fact.
One final request: please do not direct any frustration towards our distribution partners. J+J, Slam, and Go Figure have absolutely no responsibility for the issues outlined above. They are just as frustrated as we are and have supported us throughout this process.
Please stay tuned for further updates.
As I write this, I am still awaiting confirmation from the old factory regarding a final completion date for Paul Orndorff.
2026 Production Updates -
As we continue moving further into 2026, we wanted to give everyone a proper update on where things currently stand across the TRC line. A lot has been happening behind the scenes over the last few months, and while not everything is always visible publicly straight away, multiple projects are now reaching some very important stages at the same time.
First off, Paul Orndorff continues to move through production and is now firmly into the painting and packaging stage. The unpainted models are complete, and we are currently waiting on final production completion before shipment begins to TRC and partner retailers. We remain in contact with the factory daily throughout this process and, as things stand right now, we are expecting completion by the end of the month. Once preorder fulfilment is complete, Paul Orndorff will return to general sale. This figure has been one of the biggest projects we’ve tackled so far and seeing it finally reach the home stretch has been incredibly exciting for us internally.
Marcus Alexander Bagwell, 2 Cold Scorpio, and the upcoming TRC 2 Pack are all now progressing together through production as well. Manufacturing of the unpainted models is beginning, while final paint applications continue to be tested before everything moves into full production sign-off and packaging. We know people are eager to see these move faster, but paint testing and production adjustments are genuinely some of the most important stages when it comes to the final quality of the figure, so we want to make sure everything is right before pushing ahead too quickly.
Joey Janela remains in production too, although some stages may begin slightly later depending on the current molding schedule for Bagwell and Scorpio. Internally, Joey has been progressing really well and current plans still place preorders somewhere around June/July if everything continues moving as expected. There’s been a lot of excitement around this release already and we’re looking forward to showing more once things move further along.
Danhausen has now entered the prototype stage, with the completed 3D model sent for in-house resin prototype printing. Once completed, the prototype will move into hand-painted testing for scale, detailing, and final presentation adjustments before manufacturing tooling begins. Assuming timelines continue smoothly, we’re currently aiming for preorder availability around July/August.
Norman The Lunatic is now approaching the end of the final design stage. The core model itself is nearly complete, with remaining work mostly focusing on accessories, smaller refinements, and finalising the second variant design. This has been a really fun project to work on and one we’ve wanted to make sure feels completely right before moving forward.
Johnny B Badd and Van Hammer both remain in earlier development stages, but work continues actively behind the scenes on both projects. Johnny B Badd is expected to move into 3D modelling soon after previous design adjustments delayed progress slightly earlier on. Van Hammer continues to move carefully through development as we prepare to speak with Mark’s estate in the coming weeks. Their involvement is something that’s important to us as we continue shaping the figure.
Behind the scenes, several additional projects are also progressing privately. Two modern talents are currently deep into the design process and are both getting very close to completed models internally. Alongside that, we also currently have an unannounced early 90s talent in the proposal stage that we are extremely excited about. The model itself is already completed internally and currently awaiting final approval and sign-off. Without saying too much yet, this is a project we personally view as a very major release for the line and one that could potentially become one of the standout figures TRC has produced so far. Because of that, there is a strong possibility that this release may need to slide in between other planned launches once approved, simply to maximise the impact of the reveal and overall release window properly.
Outside of the figures themselves, a lot of work has also continued on improving packaging, presentation, production communication, and long-term planning for the line overall. As TRC continues to grow, so does the amount of moving parts involved behind the scenes, from approvals and production scheduling to shipping coordination and fulfilment planning. While timelines can sometimes shift because of that, it also means we are able to continue growing the line in a much bigger way moving forward.
The remainder of 2026 and the move into early 2027 is honestly shaping up to be the busiest and most exciting period TRC has had yet. We genuinely appreciate everybody who continues supporting the line, following updates, and sticking with us throughout the process. There’s still a lot more to come. - 09/05/26
